Neighborhoods We Serve
Local Housing
Millcreek is mostly established single-family neighborhoods: mid-century ramblers and split-levels under mature trees in East Mill Creek and Canyon Rim, and larger view homes climbing toward Mount Olympus and Olympus Cove. Big picture windows and sliding doors are common, and many homes are mid-renovation, which makes updated window treatments part of the remodel conversation.
Climate & Light Considerations
Millcreek sits against the Wasatch foothills, so east-side homes take bright morning sun and west-facing rooms take the full afternoon heat off the valley. Elevation makes UV a year-round issue for furniture and flooring. Cellular shades handle the temperature swing at the glass, and solar shades keep west rooms usable in the late afternoon without closing the view down.
Common Questions About Window Treatments in Millcreek
Does Luxe Window Works have a showroom in Millcreek?
No. Luxe serves Millcreek by appointment with in-home consultations. We bring Hunter Douglas and Alta Window Fashions samples to your home, and measuring and installation are performed locally through Hunter Douglas Installation Services by certified installers.
Who measures and installs window treatments in Millcreek?
Measuring and installation are performed through Hunter Douglas Installation Services, the manufacturer's own certified installation service, for both Hunter Douglas and Alta Window Fashions products. Measurements are guaranteed for fit, installation carries a one-year installation guarantee from the service, Hunter Douglas shades carry the Hunter Douglas lifetime warranty, and PowerView carries a five-year warranty.
What works for the large picture windows and sliding doors in Millcreek homes?
Wide picture windows usually take solar or sheer shades that manage the light without breaking the window into pieces, and sliding doors work well with vertical sheer or panel-style treatments that stack to one side. Wide spans are also where motorization earns its cost, since a shade you can move by remote or schedule actually gets used.
