How Much Do Hunter Douglas Window Treatments Cost?

Hunter Douglas does not publish prices, so every honest answer is a range. Here are the per-window ranges dealers and pricing guides publish, product by product, and the five things that move a quote the most.

Start with the honest answer: most Hunter Douglas window treatments land between about $300 and $1,200 per window, and the spread is real, not salesmanship. Hunter Douglas does not publish prices and does not sell direct. Every product is custom-made to order and sold through dealers, so there is no sticker price to look up. What exists are the ranges dealers and pricing guides publish, and those are what this article uses. Treat every number below as a planning range for a standard window, not a quote. The quote comes after measuring, and this article explains why that is not a dodge.

| Product | Published range per window | |---|---| | Duette honeycomb shades | $300 to $800 | | Silhouette window shadings | $500 to $1,400 depending on size and fabric | | Pirouette window shadings | $500 to $1,400 depending on size and fabric | | Designer roller and screen shades | From about $300 | | Shutters (Heritance, NewStyle, Palm Beach) | Priced per window by size, material, and panel configuration; hardwood Heritance sits at the top of the range | | PowerView motorization | Adds roughly $300 to $600 per window to most shades |

Why the ranges are so wide

Five things move a Hunter Douglas quote, in roughly this order.

Window size. This is the big one, and the ranges above assume a standard window. A large window is a different product in material, hardware, and handling. One Portland dealer publishes its installed Silhouette pricing for a 60 by 72 inch window at $2,400 to $3,900 per window. Same product line as a small bedroom Silhouette, several times the price, because there is several times as much of it.

Fabric tier. Every Hunter Douglas line has fabric collections at several price levels. The entry fabric and the premium fabric in the same product can differ by hundreds of dollars per window, and features like Duette Architella cell-in-cell construction or LightLock blackout channels sit at the top of their lines.

Operating system. A cordless manual shade is the baseline. PowerView motorization adds roughly $300 to $600 per window, and fully motorized shades commonly land between $500 and $1,200 per window all-in at standard sizes, more in premium fabrics and large sizes. Our PowerView guide covers what that money buys, and the motorized shade cost guide covers battery motorization pricing on entry lines.

Specialty shapes and tall windows. Arches, angles, trapezoids, two-story great room glass, and sliding door applications all carry specialty hardware and labor. Published benchmarks for large and custom-shape work start around $1,500 per opening and go up from there.

The dealer. Hunter Douglas sets no retail price, so two dealers can quote the same shade differently, and periodic manufacturer promotions move numbers again. Which brings up the part of pricing nobody explains.

Why the same shade gets different quotes

Part of what you are paying for is the dealer's business model. A showroom dealer carries rent, a sales staff, and an installation crew, and those costs are in every quote. Luxe Window Works is shop-at-home only. What Luxe does not carry is showroom overhead, and that difference shows up in the quote.

What a room actually costs

Per-window ranges are hard to budget against, so here is the arithmetic on a typical room, using the ranges above. A primary bedroom with four standard windows in Duette, manual operation, mid-tier fabric: roughly $1,200 to $3,200 for the room. Add PowerView to the same four windows and the room lands around $2,400 to $5,600. A great room with five large windows is a different budget entirely, because large glass prices like the Portland example, not like the standard-window table. That gap between a bedroom and a great room is exactly why dealers measure before they quote, and why any single average price for Hunter Douglas is meaningless without the window sizes behind it.

If you are deciding between product types before you budget, our cellular vs. roller comparison covers where each earns its keep, and the blackout guide covers what real darkness costs in hardware.

One service, wherever you are

The service works the same way in every market we serve: a consultation in your home, precise measuring, and a written quote. Luxe has partnered with Hunter Douglas Installation Services so the installation behind your shades meets the same standard as the product. Measuring and installation are performed by Hunter Douglas certified installers, the measuring and the order are guaranteed accurate, and the installation itself is guaranteed by Hunter Douglas for the first year. The product carries the Hunter Douglas lifetime limited warranty to the original purchaser, and PowerView motorization is covered for five years. One standard of work, backed by the manufacturer, in every market we serve.

In every market, the consultation happens in your home, and we bring the samples to you. That is deliberate. Your home is the best place to talk about custom window treatments: the light is your light, at the hours you actually live with it, the decor the shades have to live with is right there in the room, and we can see the things a showroom visit never shows, the depth of your window casements, the trim and handles, and anything else that could interrupt a shade from operating correctly. Measuring in the home, samples in hand, is how the ranges in this article become an exact number for your windows. Book a free in-home consultation and that is where it starts.

Common questions

How much do Hunter Douglas window treatments cost?

Most Hunter Douglas window treatments land between about $300 and $1,200 per window for standard sizes, with large windows, specialty shapes, and shutters running higher. Hunter Douglas publishes no prices and sells only through dealers, and every product is custom-made, so any figure is a range until a dealer measures your windows and specs the fabric and operating system.

What is the average cost of Hunter Douglas Silhouette blinds?

For standard window sizes, published dealer ranges put manual Silhouette shadings around $500 to $750 per window, and motorized versions around $800 to $1,100. Size changes everything: one Portland dealer publishes installed Silhouette pricing of $2,400 to $3,900 for a single 60 by 72 inch window. Small bedroom windows and great room glass are not the same purchase.

How much do Hunter Douglas Duette honeycomb shades cost?

Published ranges for Duette run about $300 to $800 per window for standard sizes. Entry fabrics and single-cell construction sit at the low end; Architella cell-in-cell fabrics, blackout options like LightLock, and larger sizes move toward the top. Motorization with PowerView adds roughly $300 to $600 per window on top of the shade itself.

What is the typical cost of a Hunter Douglas motorized shade?

A fully motorized Hunter Douglas shade at a standard size commonly lands between $500 and $1,200 per window, because PowerView typically adds about $300 to $600 to the same shade operated manually. Premium fabrics, blackout cellular construction, and large windows push past that range, and whole-home projects are usually quoted as a package after measuring.

Why are Hunter Douglas shades so expensive?

Three reasons. Every shade is custom-made to your window's measurements rather than pulled from a shelf, the fabric and hardware libraries are much deeper than mass-market lines, and the products are sold and installed through dealers rather than shipped in a box. Patented systems like Duette Architella, Silhouette, and PowerView also carry real engineering cost, and the warranty and service run through a local dealer instead of a call center. The fabrics, the operating systems, the matching hardware, and the finished look are a step above most competitors. For a homeowner who wants to finish their home with the best products and the best look they can get, the investment is worth it.

Are Hunter Douglas shades overpriced?

They are premium-priced, and whether that reads as overpriced depends on the window. On glass you look through all day, in rooms where light control and insulation matter, the fabric quality, fit, and dealer-backed service tend to justify the spread over mid-tier brands. On a spare bedroom or a rental, they may be more shade than the job needs, and a good dealer should tell you that. What is never true is that the price is arbitrary: size, fabric tier, operating system, and the dealer's own overhead explain nearly all of it.
